BIRMINGHAM, AL - HData, the leading provider of data analytics and analytical tools for the regulated energy industry, today announced two new members of its Board of Advisors. HData’s advisory board consists of industry experts with decades of experience in data management, energy regulation, and consulting.
The company’s new appointments to the Board of Advisors are:
-
H. Russell Frisby, former chair of the Maryland Public Utilities Commission, Pepco board member, and Comptel president; and
-
Nate Haskins, former Chief Data Officer of SNL Financial and S&P Global and elite business intelligence investor.
"Our Board of Advisors represents the best assembly of experts, anywhere, in digitizing and modernizing energy regulatory information," said Hudson Hollister, CEO of HData. "Russell and Nate bring extensive backgrounds and many decades of experience in state-level energy regulation and market-leading business intelligence. They join an elite group which already included two former chairs of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and current and former senior leadership from the most advanced energy companies in the world. Our new advisory board colleagues will help ensure HData continues to deliver the highest quality analytics and analytical tools to our customers in the regulated energy industry and beyond."
“Regulatory technology, or RegTech, stands to dramatically improve the operations of state utility commissions and their oversight of regulated energy industries,” said Frisby. “I look forward to seeing how HData’s abilities in data science, economics, user experience, and software development combine to create better and more efficient utility regulation at both the federal and state levels.”
“HData is building solutions that feel bespoke, like they were constructed by someone fluent in the industry vernacular and idiosyncrasies,” said Nate Haskins. “Having been a part of building deep sector coverage of power and natural gas in North America at SNL - I appreciate how hard a problem it is the HData team is trying to solve.”
HData’s platform uses regulatory data to automate compliance and business intelligence for electric utilities, gas companies and oil pipelines. The mission of the company, founded in 2018, is to digitize the interface between the regulatory and private sectors by creating and scaling platforms that take advantage of digital reporting.
